March 3 Lecture
I enjoyed hearing from previous students of this class and also from fellow classmates about the impact of on-line education in their lives. I am enjoying this course and have learned to use many new on-line tools while participating in it. I am not sure if I feel the strong sense of on-line community that some of them have expressed. I need to make more of an effort in this area.

Each group has a different dynamic, but I think there is still time to achieve this group online identity. Time will tell.
ReplyDeleteHi Megan, I agree with the comment you made on your March 3rd entry about not feeling a sense of on-line community. I like to think of myself as a very social person but I would much rather talk face to face, or by phone or even through e-mail but the sense of on-line community is not there for me either. On-line interactions feel very anonymous to me, I didn't grow up in today's technology and feel a disconnect with many of the digital networking tools. That is not to say that I don't see merit in digital applications but I prefer face to face interaction.
